PANTELI - LEROS

A unique traditional fishing village with a beautiful beach well organized, taverns, bars and cafes and marina for yachts. The inhabitants of Panteli unaffected by tourism continue their traditional occupation, fishing. Above Panteli is the imposing byzantine castle of Madona and Windmills. Platanos capital of the island with St. Marina is only a ten minute walk.

 Once at Panteli you feel like home, the locals keep living in harmony with the summer tourists and always will tell you a good day wherever you meet them. Sometimes  you might be invited you for a glass of ouzo or retsina at a cafe. This welcoming attitude is shown throughout Greece and the greek islands and is to some extent one of the main factors that attract tourism in Greece, apart from the sunshine and the perfect Mediterranean climate.

It’s position in Leros makes it an ideal destination for anyone visiting Leros after Agia Marina since it is located in the middle of the island and within walking distance of all major tourist places, Alinda, Agia Marina, Lakki, and sights of Leros like the Historical and Folklore Museum at Alinda, the Beleni tower, the Antonelou Museum in Platanos, the Castle of Madona, Mpourtzi – at the entrance to the harbor of Agia Marina (Roman fort), the Castle of Platanos and more.
